Visions and Values

Our vision is to create a collaborative partnership of schools to foster educational excellence and build a community of lifelong learning in Poole.

The Harbourside Learning Partnership is committed to give every child the best possible start in life by enabling children to be successful, confident and aspirational learners; securing the highest possible levels of achievement for all children and providing our children with a variety of rich moral and spiritual experiences.

Through this, we aim to create adults of integrity with a deep desire to contribute positively to their community and their world.

Working together for the benefit of our community

Our Multi-Academy Trust has been created by six Church of England and community schools coming together to form the Harbourside Learning Partnership: Baden-Powell & St. Peter's CofE Junior School, Courthill Infant School, Lilliput CofE Infant School, Longfleet CofE Primary School, Oakdale Junior School and Old Town Infant School & Nursery.

We chose to collaborate to foster a learning community where school improvement and a passion for learning are at the heart of what we do. While we share best practice, values and aims - we will celebrate each school's unique and individual characteristics - retaining individual identities, uniforms, ethos and, where relevant, Christian distinctiveness.

The Harbourside Learning Partnership works together for the benefit of the children and their families in a spirit of service for the community of Poole.

The work of all out staff, governors, Trustees and Members is guided by the following core principles:

  • The children and their families remain central to all our decisions and actions.
  • Our schools work with a spirit of openness, honesty, collaboration and sharing.
  • We have an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.
  • We foster highly effective leadership at all levels in the schools as this is central to our children succeeding.
  • We embrace a spirit of collective accountability where each school takes responsibility for the success of every child in every school.
  • We strive for every classroom to offer innovative, engaging and creative teaching through which our children are inspired.
  • We build a curriculum and culture which offers a broad range of enriching experiences to suit all learners.
  • We maintain a nurturing culture with perpetual attention to children's emotional development and wellbeing, which is crucial to every aspect of their lives.
